Why is My Volume in 'ERROR' State!?! - An Introduction to Troubleshooting Your Cinder Configuration

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The most frequent problem I see from customers is 'I have configured Cinder but my volumes just go to 'ERROR' state.  Why?'  There are a number of common pitfalls that storage administrators who are new to Cinder may encounter.  The source of the problem may not be easily determined by new users, but with a bit of guidance most problems are easily resolved.  This  presentation will help guide new, and existing, users to smooth attainment of an 'available' volume on new storage back-ends whether it be on a new system or an additional storage system being added via Cinder's multi-backend support.
